Powerflushing Leicester
Heat Leicester provides expert powerflushing services to clean heating systems, remove sludge, and restore radiator performance. Our engineers cover all areas of Leicester, offering honest advice, fixed prices, and no hidden extras.
How a Powerflush Is Carried Out
Here’s how we clean your heating system safely and thoroughly — with the right tools and zero guesswork.
- Chemical Prep: We begin by adding specialist chemicals to help break down stubborn sludge and debris inside your system.
- System Drain-Down: Once the chemicals have circulated, we completely drain your heating system to begin the flushing process.
- Flush Machine Connection: We connect a powerful external flushing pump and magnetic filter — usually through your pump or central pipework.
- One Radiator at a Time: Fresh water is pumped through each radiator individually (unless the system uses microbore), flushing until the return hose runs clean.
- Repeat System-Wide: We repeat the flushing process radiator by radiator, checking clarity and flow throughout until the full system is clean.
- Recommission & Protect: We refill the system, add protective inhibitor, check pressure and recommission everything to ensure it’s running smoothly.
Our process is thorough, efficient, and carried out by experienced engineers — not contractors.
Is My System Suitable for Powerflushing?
Most central heating systems – including those with microbore pipework – can be safely and effectively powerflushed, as long as it’s done by an experienced engineer using the right technique.
Microbore systems (8mm or 10mm pipes) simply require a different flushing approach. Instead of flushing one radiator at a time like with standard 15mm pipework, we always keep two radiators open at once. This reduces resistance, avoids pressure build-up, and ensures the flush is smooth and safe.
- Safe for microbore (8mm/10mm) systems – we adapt the flow method
- Works with combi, system, and heat-only boilers
- Ideal for radiators with cold patches or slow heat-up
- Noisy pipes, frequent airlocks, or blocked filters are all signs a flush may help
Not sure what type of system you have? No problem – we’re happy to assess and give you honest advice, with no obligation.
Powerflushing – What You Need to Know
Why Powerflush?
Tired of cold patches and noisy radiators? A powerflush clears sludge and restores flow.
The Symptoms
Cold radiators, noisy pipes, and frequent bleeding? Your system might be full of sludge.
What Is Powerflushing?
High-pressure fluid is pushed through your system to remove rust and debris buildup.
Before and After
See the transformation – a clean system heats faster, runs quieter, and works efficiently.
